Playing with detailing some blocks

this one actually took me longer than it should have, but i wanted the texture to look crisp so i re-painted the texture by hand on a x64 scale, each 'pixel' is actually 64 across which makes the full texture 1024x1024, a nice res for this, i did it by sampling the real texture and selecting the blocks (using the grid in photoshop with snaps on) and filled out each section

but it looked a little flat, so i decided to cut it up and add some depth to it, it looks ok but compared to the original it loses its minecraft charm
